Paul Hitchin 'Warriors for the Working Day', the artwork of Paul Hitchin, reflects the artist's long interest in military history. His figures portray an interpretation of how the soldier actually appeared on campaign, mud, blood and all. Paul takes pride in his research, giving as accurate a portrait of the fighting man as possible. Paul's portfolio is continually growing and includes figures from ancient times to World War Two. He can provide limited edition reproductions or originals dependant upon a client's request and will undertake illustrations of any period or nationality as required. Paul is a proven illustrator with published work in several books including drawings for the prestigious Osprey series. He was for many years a Medieval re-enactor and still takes pride in shooting the English longbow on most Sundays. He is married with one son. |

Ron "Smudge" Smith Born on the 3rd of January 1928, which according to his calculator makes him approximately, or so he says, about twenty six. It was in 1934, when he was six, that his Dad inspired and awakened a talent he didn't even know he had, drawing. At the end of the 1930's he had started to create his own characters, and used Indian ink as opposed to pencil, and eventually completed his first comic book. Always a lover of Birmingham's trams, he started to paint images of City Life in the style of his hero in the art world, Carl Giles of Sunday and Daily Express fame, which thankfully was admired by people far and wide. He has also written and published three books, and a fourth book was a volume of his paintings and cartoons.
